This morning we said “Bon Voyage” to Battalion Chief Diane Schroeder as she closed her fire service chapter and starts her retirement chapter. Chief Schroeder ended her 24-year career, which started at Aurora Fire Rescue for almost 20 years, before coming to Louisville.
In the good times and bad, Chief Schroeder was always there to lend a hand, give her support, shed a tear, and, most of all, laugh at the firehouse kitchen table. Her impact on the organization, the firefighters, and the citizens is immeasurable and will last for years.
A heartfelt thank you, “Lady Tango.” We will miss you, and we love you.
