The Louisville Fire Protection District Fire Prevention Division is here to guide you through the planning and review process to ensure the process is efficient, convenient, and interactive. Please complete the fire alarm review form if you are submitting plans for fire alarm review.

Fire Alarm Review Permit

Fill Out The Permit Form

Go to the “apply” tab on this page and complete the form.  Make payment and submit when done.  An emailed copy of the form submission will be emailed to the property owner’s email address indicated in the form.

Submitting Your Plans

The form allows you to upload up to three planning documents with your form.  If you opted to submit your planning files separately, be sure they are emailed to cmestas@louisvillefire.com.

Pay Your Permit Fees

Pay for the appropriate fire alarm review and permitting fees.

Print and Attach to Your Building Plans

Print receipt for your records. Once complete, your permit will be emailed to you.

This form must be completed and attached to the front of the plans.

Pay

Fire Alarm Review Fees

Select, and pay, for the review fees appropriate for your fire alarm system. If you have not yet completed a fire alarm review request, please do that first by going to the “apply” tab on this page. Print your payment confirmation and attach it to your plans with the fire alarm review form.

Fire Alarm System – New: $350

This fee is required to obtain a construction permit to install a new fire alarm system or replace an existing one.

Fire Alarm System – Modification: $246

This fee is required to obtain a construction permit for extensions, modifications, or alterations of a fire alarm system.

Exit / Access Control Systems: $140

This fee is required to obtain a construction permit to install or modify an access control system in all commercial occupancies.
